Floor air vent ?
Is it safe to block an air vent on the floorboards in my livingroom as I have a 8 to 10 foot void under floorboards with a brick air vent in the outside wall no fire in livingroom apart from gas central heating

If you block the vent air will not be able to return to the furnace and you will have a cold or hot room depending on the season. if it is a supply vent then air will not be able to get into the room. The vent in the outside brick wall is to allow air flow in the crawl space. This is to keep it dry and odor free. Prevent moisture buildup and mold. Do not block that one either.
Air vents are pretty important to air exchange. You likely want to keep it.

This seems like a question you should ask a pro about. It’s not good to cover over or block any sort of vent. I’m not sure to what end you’re looking for so ask a professional for assistance.
