What's wrong with this Quaking Aspen?

Hi, for the last two years this Quaking Aspen has come in nicely in spring and then gotten brown and wilted in the middle. It looks green and fine on top. Can anyone tell me what is causing this and if I can do anything to save the tree?

Leaf scorch can cause portions of a tree's leaves to turn brown, Steve, and aspens are particularly susceptible. For pointers on prevention, see this article from Colorado State University's Extension service: http://www.ext.colostate.edu/pubs/garden/02911.html
