Debbie Harris on Oct 13, 2014They can be used to self water garden plants. Poke holes around the sides wiith an ice pick so they are small, bury it in the garden or pot, plant around and fill with water.Helpful Reply

Dobi on Oct 13, 2014They make good funnels. You just cut off the bottom portion and leave enough to pour whatever in and the mouth if the jug is what you put in the receptacle you are filling.Helpful Reply

Rhonda Davis on Oct 13, 2014I recently saw some that had been spray painted with glow-in-the-dark paint, tops sliced off or handles left on and then filled with water for weight (or sand). Set outside at night (after being 'charged' by being exposed to light bulbs) and you have instant luminaries or faux solar lights to illuminate a walkway or patio. They were terrific looking.Helpful Reply

Denise on Oct 14, 2014I fill with potting soil and plant starter seeds for my garden. Cut just above the half way point of the jug but not all the way around, making the top half a "lid". Punch a few holes in the bottom for drainage. The "top" won't close completely over the top which is good so to allow air flow and droplets of morning dew until you can properly water.Helpful Reply
