Jeanette S on Sep 16, 2012If you have teenagers, 5 of the biggest ones you can find! One for each bathroom!!!! The problem of getting a household up, bathed and out the door every day is a problem that mankind cannot solve! We can get to the moon, but we can't get the teenagers in and out of the shower on one hot water heater of water! HA, HA!!!Helpful Reply

KMS Woodworks on Sep 16, 2012A gas water heater typically has a faster recovery than electric. And it is not so much how many baths the home has but how much water is being used in a given time frame... If you have 5 baths being used at any given time you would need a pair of 50 gals. If you have 5 shower running one after the other a tankless system could run all day long and never run out...you would just need to size it for the max flow you might encounter. As far as flooring goes...Any area that could see water should be tile...Kitchen, baths and laundry. I have replaced many wood floors in kitchens where a small leak in a icemaker line has gone un-noticed and created all kinds of trouble...$$$$$Helpful Reply
