Shades and drapes

Shari on Dec 18, 2014No disrespect to the person who told you using roman shades and drapery panels together is "too busy" but I would say that is their personal opinion and just not fact. If you google images on the internet or search Pinterest, you will see many beautiful examples of the two treatments used together. Ignore the well-meaning (but WRONG!) person who told you it should be "either/ or--not both" and forge ahead with your plans to use drapes with roman shades in your office makeover. https://www.pinterest.com/search/pins/?q=roman%20shades%20with%20drapes&term_meta[]=roman+shades+with+drapes|typed http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=roman+shades+with+drapes&FORM=HDRSC2Helpful Reply

Jo Ann Miller on Dec 19, 2014If you look at lots of decor pictures you will see that roman shades under panels are becoming very popular. I'm in the process of putting then in my living room with the panels that are already there. I say GO FOR IT!Helpful Reply

Barbara on Dec 19, 2014I have blinds under sheers and drapes. Because of a southern exposure I need the layers to keep a lot of the heat out.Helpful Reply

Gail Salminen on Dec 20, 2014@Sherry Fram I agree with the other responses. Should you have a different pattern on both pieces it could be too busy, but if the look is coordinated I think it could be a very classy look. Do post pics of what you do, I am sure we are all interested. Thanks for posting.Helpful Reply

Sheryll S on Sep 19, 2015Oh please, that is not true. Now if you get too fancy with ruffles or embellishments maybe, but Roman shades are wonderful under simple drapery panels.Helpful Reply
