Mildew on outdoor plastic wicker furniture
-
Shari on Mar 16, 2015If you have access to a pressure washer, that will remove a lot of it, as well as dirt. We have also used a product called Wet & Forget Outdoors on concrete, vinyl siding, outdoor furniture and cushions and have been very pleased with the results. Spray it on and it continues to work through wind and rain. You can go to their website to read about it. We found it at Lowes or Home Depot (I can't remember which). I'll be pressure washing and using Wet & Forget on my porch and outdoor wicker furniture sometime in the next couple weeks.Helpful Reply

Gail Salminen on Mar 16, 2015@Ann Weiss a pressure washer may do the trick, but if it older may cause the faux wicker to fall apart in some areas. CLR has a new product for mold and mildew which may help - http://www.lowes.com/pd_621573-75269-CMM-6_0__?productId=50298013 I haven't used it yet but plan to get some for the gasket of my front load washer. Good luck.Helpful Reply

Marion Nesbitt on Mar 17, 2015I used a mildew/mould resistant paint on the inside of a concrete basement wall that had been given a stucco-like finish. Never had a problem.Helpful Reply

Diana Deiley on Mar 31, 2016I'm a little late for this.....but we use a product called 30 Seconds. Works great. Or you could use chlorine, another product we've used to power wash our manufactured home. Both are excellent.Helpful Reply

Bar822173 on Mar 31, 2016I've always used a soap and bleach solution with a scrub brush that is not too stiff. I let it sit in the sun after wetting it down with the soap solution for about 20 minutes, scrub, then rinse with clear water. I'd guess I use about 1 cup of beach to a bucket full of soapy water. Of course you have to make sure the furniture finish is colorfast and will hold up to the scrubbing. Test on an inconspicuous area first.Helpful Reply
