Siva on Mar 30, 2015do not use paint directly. You gently scrap over the glue. otherwise it gives a very bad view. Once it is made with good alignment with the wall surface use a broad painter brush and then apply the colour. There will be no marks at all. You need some patience for this work . But one has to..because wall paper itself is a costly affair. If after spendig money if we do not good result it will hurt us.Helpful Reply

Tammy Crowe on Mar 30, 2015I dont know the name of the stuff, but they sell a product , u can pick it up at Walmart, it is specifically for the removal of wallpaper. I have used it before , works really well. Just be sure to apply a liberal amount with a sponge and the wallpaper will come off with ease.Helpful Reply

Buldoger on Mar 31, 2015Greetings, I have removed many rooms of wallpaper (and paint). score first/apply mixture of vinegar and water and used a steamer...while all worked prior...the last house the bedroom had a type of vinyl wallpaper. The first layer came off easily enough but the paper and glue was horrid underneath...just globbed on the wall. NONE of the above worked...I went and bought the products suggested for removing wallpaper and spent big $$ which none worked. Finally, I came up with an idea to use straight LESTOIL on it. Trick is, it works, but you have to wait only 5-10 minutes and then SCRAPE quickly as when the LESTOIL is on too long it becomes solidified. And you have to reapply.Helpful Reply

Buldoger on Mar 31, 2015I won't lie, it's a mess and I suggest using rags dipped in vinegar and water to clean the wall afterwards but throw them away and start with new rags/towels when they get gooey. I consider myself kind of a pro, not really, but have stripped two large homes where every room had wallpaper and a few had two layers of wallpaper.Helpful Reply

Julie Dever on Apr 01, 2015If the wall surface had been properly primed with Shieldz or Kilz of Kilz II, or even shellac, it would be so easy to just scrub it off with warm water and dish detergent....unfortunately, often not the case.Helpful Reply
