Hot glue gun and crayons?
-
Linda Werner on Aug 06, 2015I have never mixed the two products, but I'm thinking the wax and glue would hold together. I do know and have mixed nail polish with hot glue and it works great. I mixed it right in mold that you would use for clay. Let it cool off and it came out of the mold easy and the color was still mixed and this was over a year ago and its still holding just fine .Maybe I will try the crayon,,,maybe. Z on Aug 06, 2015Freida, they do those using a hair dryer, not a glue gun. Glue the crayons to the what ever you are using for a backing and then melt them with a hair dryer.Helpful Reply

Susan Bechamp on Aug 07, 2015Not Pointillism This is how my sisters and I used crayons and hot glue. We used to shred crayons in an old pencil sharpener. Arrange the bits on waxed paper, cover with more waxed paper and iron with warm iron (no steam). I found it works best to put an old folded sheet on the table and use a pressing cloth to cover the top sheet of waxed paper so the wax doesn't get on the iron. When the crayons have melted and cooled you can carefully peel away the waxed paper and cut the crayon wax into the shape you want. Or use a metal cookie cutter then hot glue the colored wax onto your item to be decorated. (We used my Grandma's old cookie cutters that were rusty and couldn't be used on food. They were good enough for wax and play dough.) Another use was old candy molds and melted crayons or candle wax. Or fill a milk carton with ice and insert a candle wick, pour melted crayons mixed with candle wax in. The ice will melt, but also harden the wax leaving interesting holes behind. When the wax has cooled, tip the milk carton over and drain out the water. Next day peel away the carton to reveal your fancy candle. Embellish with beads, glitter or whatever you have.Helpful Reply

Lori T on Aug 07, 2015I don't know I think it depends on the size of the chamber of your glue gun . The glue is very hard and the wax is very soft it might ruin your glue gun.Or you could get a cheapy and try it.Helpful Reply
