If you’re referring to holes for handles or knobs, your local home improvement store will have premade jigs that are super easy to use.

Find the studs. Drill a hole smaller than the screw.
I like a French Cleat for uppers, if I’ve no help to hold them up.
LaDonna,. Start with a power drill with a bit smaller than the screws you'll use. Try to put them up by securing the cabinets on studs. They are 16 inches apart. Use a level and a pencil to mark the spot where the cabinets go. Aloha!
