We have tried so many different ones and have different problems. Ants get inside, bees attracted, larger birds perch, etc. we have lots of hummers in our area and want to bring them in but there must be a solution to our problems and buying new feeders all the time is costly.

Hi Judy. Go to home depot they sell a ant away just for hum feeder. .you hang it on the hook first then hook your hum feeder to it .they really work. .you may check Amazon. Or your local pets stores .I have bought them for several years now .I have even wrapped it up in winter and reuse next spring. .Good luck .

Hi, above is one design. Works great for me. As for bees, they're not so attracted to red. Also reduce the sugar to water ratio on occasion. And, if possible, move the feeder around. Bees have scouts that tell the others where the goodies are. If it's not there, the other bees report back to the hive that the food's gone. Good luck.

Thank you for the idea of the contraption that stops the ants. Is there an actual name for this hanger? The picture of it is hard to see on my device. I want to look for it online.

Judy, right click on the image, then click on "view image" in the box that pops up. It will expand in another tab. The water vessel is a tin can. I used a cat food can, but any other small can will work. Good luck.

I used a spray can top. You can connect it in the center to the feeder and use the outside as a mote. Just add water. Ants dont swim.
