Don't be discouraged because 197 gph is still 3.8 gallons per minute. Consider trying to empty a 1 gallon container in 20 seconds.
Next, the more drips you have the more "noise" the fountain will make. One very high drop will make a lot of noise too, but there will be more splash resulting in quicker water loss. You have to check on a fountain's water level in its reservoir on a daily basis. Windy days and hot weather can increase the rate of evaporation. Don't let your pump run dry!
Strong pump (the stronger the pump the faster the flow)also using a straight drop instead of flowing over multiple pieces of rock or levels. The higher the drop, the stronger the water flow, the louder the water splash,you'll need to be able to get to filter in pump regularly to clean it to keep pump in peak shape for good flow. You can buy adjustable/variable flow pumps so you'll be able to adjust the flow depending on your set up.
