I have several indoor plants that are vines and need some support...any ideas on how to make a moss pole or some other support structure?

    garden centers sell bamboo stakes, you can use strips of nylon panty hose to tie up plants if needed; you can position the stakes and weave/string jute cord between them -- like a ladder--for the plants to climb on; Large plants will need large support;

    You can use small wood skewers--bamboo--like those used for cooking on the grill. And secure your plants loosely with bread tie wraps. Of course this will not work for large heavy vines.

    Hi Peg

    my decor is vintage rustic and natural. I am always looking for something to support plant growth. I have used shed antlers very effectively on some of my plants. Because they are curved the counter balance heavy portions of the plant when wedged in the side of the plant. Lends a natural look to the planting as well. Nancy

    Chop sticks work great for the smaller plants. Stronger than bamboo if needed extra support.

    whatever you choose to use if you are using string, dye it. just squirt a little of the acrylic paint that you use for crafts on a plate in the color green and drag the string through it. it makes it less noticable.

    Hi Peg. I'm Cindy. I have a couple trellis's in my indoor pots that support vines. When securing plants to a trellis, you can use old panty hose pieces or pipe cleaners to secure the plant to it's support. Never use string or wire. It will cut the stalks.

    I use chopsticks that you get from your Dollar Tree Store or leftover ones if you have eaten at a Chinese restaurant lately.

    Yep, I use chopsticks too. I buy the stainless steel ones on line. Then I actually take a vintage salt/pepper shaker and put it on the end. You can use a little bit of clay to secure it without permanently gluing it. They look really cute and serve as supports to tie the plants.

    I've also purchased fairy garden arbors and use those with some vining plants like pothos.
