How do I build an outdoor fire pit with my materials on hand?
I have about 100 1 X 1 paving stones and many large "river" rocks on my property. I would like to build a permanent fire pit with paving stones surrounding it (to prevent fires!) with rocks gathered from my property. I would like to do it spending as little money as possible (probably need to buy cement bags). Any ideas?

This is what we did, no cement used, but we did buy the actual metal fire pit piece and stoned around it. It's been working great. I would say lay them out and play with it and see how they fit together.
Some folks state that only firebrick would be used, as other rocks / bricks could explode.
