I do not want to build a patio, just raise the level of the porch to equal the doorway. I am 76 with lousy knees that do not like steps. Couldn't I just build a wooden platform to raise the small porch and maybe make it wider? It could set on concrete footings to keep moisture from damaging it.?
Wooden decks need to be cleaned if not they become very slippery and slimmy. Maintenance can be expensive. Cover your cement with indoor outdoor carpet, which is easier to maintain. (I have 3 wooden decks)
