Brads are made with slightly lighter gauge wire then finish nails. That just means they don't hold as heavy of a payload as finish nails. Many carpenters use both brad and nail guns. Consider which tool or nail will be best for you and your applications.
Brad nailers use what are called brads (hence the name). Brads are essentially a thinner gauge of nailused to attach lightweight trim. People have explained the difference between brads and finishing nails. It really depends on what you want to do. My husband got this nail gun and really likes it. He's been working on trim at the moment. What is nice is it can hold a couple different size nails. He did say that it can be a little heavy for some people.
