I would use a stud finder and see if you have suds close to the corners to use for supports. If so, try a built in application. Use 1x3s for shelf cleats screwed into the studs. Use a stud finder to screw into the suds directly to support the weight of the shelf. Use a level to make sure the cleats, and therefore the shelf, is level.

The size of the shelf will be determined either by the cleat size or by how much room you want to invest in the project. Buy cabinet grade plywood to use for the shelving and some 1x2 in oak or birch depending on the plywood material for a front cleat to finish the plywood edge and help stiffen the shelf. Cut the front cleat the length of the front edge of the plywood shelf at 45 degree angles on the short side. You should glue and screw this and use wood plugs to finish the front of your shelf.

The side measurements of your shelf should be long enough to allow the front cleat to fall past the side cleats. If you have drywall walls, it is likely that the drywall curves into the corner for the tape and joint compound so your shelf will need to be scribed into the corner. Using a Math Compass place the point on the wall and the pencil on the shelf and draw the line and sand the shelf to fit the corner's curve, Note that the curve at about 4' may be significantly different than other heights along the corner. But once you have one shelf done, this can serve as a better starting place for other shelves.

You can paint or stain these as suits your needs.
