How do I remove aluminum foil that was baked into my oven?

Because of previous spills when cooking turkey, I put aluminum foil in the bottom of my oven.....it must have spilled again because the foil has become part of the oven. To make things worse, my husband turned on the self-clean & it is baked on. I now have baking soda soaking on it. Nothing will scrape it off! Help!!

Easy Off heavy duty oven cleaner..... Many oven cleaner labels, such as Easy Off, warn not to use it on aluminum because it will eat the aluminum. In this case, that’s exactly what you want to happen. ***** Let the oven cool completely. Carefully scrape off as much foil as possible with a razor blade. Ventilate the area. Open windows. Wear gloves and eye protection. Spray the oven cleaner on the spots. Leave the cleaner on the spots for about 20 minutes, then scrape the area clean with a putty knife or razor scraper. Repeat the process as many times as necessary to remove the foil. Wash the area to remove any remaining residue from the oven cleaner.

That is exactly what we are doing now....thank you!!! Sure hope it works....I never had this happen before and my oven is only a year old....hubby not too happy but it was obviously an accident. The can says to let it sit for 24 hours. But, looking on the bright side, I don't have to cook dinner tonight! Will let you know how it goes. Thanks again!

Hot hot water and baking soda soaks on surface for 1 hour and removed with egg flipper.

Tried that and it did not touch it....the foil has unfortunately become part of the oven. We currently have Easy Off soaking on it overnight. Thanks for the info, though!

No. We tried the self cleaning and the entire bottom cracked so we had them replace the oven since it was under warranty
