WD40 Wash well after letting it soak. The WD 40 will get under the lime scale and wash off.

ok may sound strange but... fill to top of the lime scale line with water... drop in a couple denture tablets and let them fizz up... leave over night and then try washing it again... this worked for my dad when he had the same issue with a stainless steal container. Leaving it for a longer time frame may also help.

I clean mine all the time take the lid off and plug in and add water a good portion of vinegar and let boil until clean it won't boil if lid is on if you need to repeat but bet you won't need to do that

Straight vinegar or straight lemon juice.... no water or anything else. I let it soak for a couple of hours then use non abrasive scourer. Comes up as new. Then rinse and put fresh water in and boil to get rid of any vinegar/lemon residue to prevent your milk curdling when you make your next cuppa I do just the bottom of mine with either of these weekly as it's a clear jug. Good luck! ☺
