Hi Grandma,
I was able to find a simple recipe for homemade Jet Dry.
Here’s the simple recipe and ingredients needed:
10-15 drops of essential oil (I like to use lemon, but any of the 7 oils from our germ/bacteria fighting oils list will work fine…lemon, cinnamon and lavender
Step #1 – Add 1 cup of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide to a measuring cup.
Step#2 – Add your 10-15 drops of lemon or other essential oil to the Hydrogen Peroxide.
Step #3 – Pour into your rinse agent compartment of your dishwasher. I have to do this about every 30 days.
Hope this helps.
1c 3% hydrogen peroxide
10-15 drops lemon, thieves or lavender essential oil
mix together
pour into rinse agent compartment of your dishwasher
re-fill every 30 days
I use vinegar and the dishes are clean and so is the inside of the dishwasher!
white distilled vinegar works for me.
The best way is to fill a small cup with vinegar and leave on the top shelf of the dishwasher.
Some people use vinegar in the rinse agent area but I've read where this may start breaking down the rubber in your dishwasher.
Good Luck!
