I use a mix of 20% bleach and 80% water. Using a dish cloth and wash the seals until the M / M is gone. Rinse with clear warm water, not hot. very effective.

Lysol is the best for removing mold and killing the spores. Buy some spray Lysol and wash away your problems.

  • Magic erasers work wonders! I would definitely soak the erasers with some sort of bleach solution as stated above or mold inhibitor as you clean.

It sounds like the bigger problem is that your fridge doesn't seal completely allowing moisture to seep in/out. Look into having the seals replaced or repaired.

Bleach is the best thing to remove mold and mildew. Put some on a cloth and wipe down the seal. Then wipe down again with clean water. If it comes back again have it replaced.

  • I would have the seal replaced if this is a regular occurrence. Otherwise, I just clean with vinegar and rinse well and dry.

Tilex spray for "Mold and Mildew" seems to penetrate better than regular bleach. A refrigerator repairman gave me this gem and it is a Wonderful piece of advice. only drawback for me is the perfumed fragrance of the Tilex so I spray and run to give it a day to get un-smelly. Then I clean with a good detergent and rinse very well. Amazing results every time on my own frig as well as rentals

IF you have rippled seals, use a Q-tip to get in the spaces (I like the spray Lysol idea); and, as in my summer cabin, seals may leak -- smearing some Vaseline on seals will make them leak less.
