How do I clean an aluminum drip tray?

My counter top oven is stainless, the rack is chrome, glass in the door. Removeable drip tray is aluminum. I use this little guy a lot at 400-450*. The greasy drips are baked on. The rest of the oven is pretty easy. A bit of elbow grease and ammonia gets the oven if necessary. Ammonia does get off the glued on grease but oxidizes the drip tray. Anybody know how to get it clean a little easier without discoloring it? Thanks.

HI Jody, Found this reference and hope you can get good results. After you get the drip tray clean, a suggestion would be to cover it with foil each time if at all possible. Best to you.

Thank you. I’m very familiar with all the methods. I have used several methods to get the shiny back. It’s not the shiny I need back. I guess I didn’t make that clear. It’s the baked on grease. It’s like it’s been glued on with gorilla glue. If it were stainless, it would clean easier. Also, I did wrap it in foil, but grease can manage to crawl underneath. 🙄. I’m looking for a degreaser that won’t yurn it black while I’m getting the grease off. But thank you so very much for offering.

try baking soda as a scrub.

The baking soda, and then adding lemon juice too, doesn’t get the burned on grease. It just sits there laughing at me. Looks ugly, works great. I mean it catches the drips. Thank you very much for the suggestion.

Do you know the brand? I’ve looked at several but they say use on concrete but not aluminum. Thanks. I’ve been working on this for awhile, not an emergency, it still works fine. If/when you go to HD could you check out the brand, the size, the color, just something to help them to help me pick the right one. And thank you so much for the suggestion.

Degreaser multi-purpose cleaner. First force is written on the left corner of the label. Blueish looking liquid in a spray bottle.
