In the laundry section there is washer cleaning tablets. I believe it is a 5-pack. That should help with mold, and any odor you might have.
Connie - I answered your others post - clean it out with a little bleach on a paper towel. Then switch to HE detergent.

How to Clean Your Washing Machine Using Vinegar and Baking Soda
Something they never mention when you buy these machines...it's best to leave the washer door ajar between washes. The air circulation helps with the mold build up and any smell that goes with it. I use HE detergent and the mold is still there and needs manual cleaning when the little tablets don't do the whole job.
I use baking soda and vinegar and I agree with Terri. I leave the door open between washes.
Hi Connie: Start by spraying pure distilled white vinegar onto all parts of the gasket and let it sit for up to an hour. Then, wipe the gasket with warm water and a clean cloth to remove the vinegar and any loosened debris. Leave the washing machine door open after cleaning to let the seal dry completely and prevent mold regrowth.
For a deeper clean, create a mixture with liquid dish soap and hot water, scrub gently, and rinse. Regularly wipe the seal after use and leave the door ajar. I always leave my washing machine door open to avoid these problems.
These machines-front loaders- are famous for this problem. I have one also and, ugh, have this problem. To help I use plain white vinegar in the spot where you put fabric softener. That in it's self will not solve the problem, but it helps. What to do is take plain white vinegar and put it on a rag and wipe the stained area down with it, that will kill the spores. After doing the last load of laundry, take a clean dry rag and wipe the gaskets down to dry them off. Keep the door open to the washer at all times (yes. it is obnoxious) and also dry the sliding tray where you load detergent, etc and leave it open.
Hi Connie, hope this helps you.
1-part vinegar and 4 parts water — just vinegar and water can do the trick if the mold growth in your washer gasket is in sparse amounts. 1-part bleach and 4 parts water — use bleach if the above-mentioned natural cleaners don't work for you.
To prevent mold and mildew, do NOT close your washer after using, leave the door open to air dry it
