The owner's manual should give you an answer as to how to remove the filter off. It needs to be cleaned as it sounds like it is clogged, allowing sludge and soap to be splashed back onto the dishes. The drain itself may have some blockage as well and that should be cleaned. Do NOT use drain cleaner. If you cannot remove and clean filter you may need to get help from a plumber or handyman.

Bet you live in Texas. Extremely hard water. Does not disolve soap and leaves grit all over. Get 16 oz. Bottle of white vinegar. Add to washer and run normal cycle. Should solve the problem for about a month.

I have hard water and the inside of my dishwasher is stainless. I spray the inside with vinegar just before I start it and also fill the dispenser for the spot free additive with vinegar . This keeps the white buildup inside the dishwasher and also on the dishes. I don't live in Texas, but did for years and yes the water is hard down there, but without a water softener, even Minnesota and every state will have hard water.

  • Try contacting the manufacturer in order to find out how to remove the filter for cleaning. You may not be able to resolve your issue until you get that cleaned first.

I use vinegar in my dishwasher about every six weeks to keep it clean. My dishwasher manual says not to use vinegar in the additive dispenser, because it will eventually ruin the seals and hoses. I didn't know this, and that is what happened to our other dishwasher....started leaking on the floor and had to get a new dishwasher.
