I think I understand what you are asking and the answer is "no", unfortunately. It is the plastic that has discolored due to age and no amount of scrubbing will take that away. Besides replacement you may consider removing the handles, making them really clean, wiping with a solvent, then spray painting. Krylon and Rustoleum both make aerosol paints that adhere well to plastics. Make sure they are cleaner than you think they need to be and if the paint flakes it will be because there was still some kitchen grease left.
I hate that!! Try appliance paint or look for replacements'
Hello Janet :) I don't know if your refrigerator handle is vinyl or plastic, and that would affect the cleaning of it:

Yellowed refrigerator door handles
You can try using a Magic Eraser. If that doesn't work, the handle has probably discolored from age. Unfortunately, once it has discolored, there is no way to clean it. You could contact the manufacturer to see if there are replacement handles available.
I have the same problem. I mixed a paste of baking soda and lemon and used a toothbrush to scrub and it helped a lot. Unfortunately it didn't last long with teens. My next plan is to clean it this way then put a clear coat on them to keep them sealed and easier to clean. Hope this helps.
1. Remove handles. Some bolt on some slide on.
2. Sand with 80-120 sandpaper to remove yellow.
3. Wet sand with 500-1500 grit sandpaper
4. Optional-spray with a cleat coat .
5. Re install handles.
Cleaning does not work. The sun is what turns them yellow. I tried all the cleaning options and nothing worked even a little.
You may need to paint them.
