Hello-I personally have found the both diy Coke or Kool-Aid suggestions to be ineffective in my situation with very hard water. If the solution also fails for you and consider trying a scouring stick.

My solution was the pumice stick. This is excellent way to remove stains and rings in the toilet. When commercial toilet cleaners and diy treatments fail -this is my go to. Great for thick crusted calcium mineral build up that the toilet waterbowl collcts.

They are found at my local Walmart for less than two dollars -good for multiple uses. Be sure to follow the use instructions, soaking the pumice stone in water for a few minutes. While the stone is soaking, grab your toilet brush and splash water up around the ring. Note: It’s very important to keep both the stone and the surface wet while cleaning to avoid scratching your porcelain.

I certainly hope you find the perfect solution. This one at walmart is a square shaped -long rectangle does become soft with gritty debris with scrubbing that erases my ring- that I flush away.

BTW Amazon carries some pumice stones on a stick, not sure if the one you are looking for.

I purchased an 1960s older home once.....I had to mechanically chisel away the stained build up inside the lowest part of the bowl from past years, maybe decades of neglected care.

      Best wishes, kindest regards Karen

I agree with Vimarhonor, I have super hard water and the coca-cola trick didn't do much for my toilets! The scouring stick worked perfect though! We moved into a home that had been vacant for over a year with water standing in the toilets...talk about a nightmare! Lol! But the scouring sticks made them look brand new! I still use them occasionally to remove the ring! Hope that helps!

Thank you The Inspired Workshop. Like I mentioned to Vimarhonor above that's what I've primarily used is a pumice stone but used up my longstanding one on a stick and it's like the stores don't carry them anymore. Only the pumice bars they seem to carry now seem softer.

Appreciate your input and will look again. At least, it sounds like they're still out there.
