Hi Sharon. We just redid my bathroom and there are special soap scum removers at Home Depot. So sorry I don't remember the name, but they have several different cleaning formulas with this one brand. H. Depot will be able to answer you. Also everytime I take a shower I wipe down the entire shower. Pain to do and takes longer than the shower. LOL But it will save the buildup from happening. I think the brand is CHR or similar. Hope someone else is better help than I am, but maybe this will also help.
Bon Ami and Comet work well, scrubbing with a sponge or wet microfiber cloth. I've actually applied paste or liquid car wax to the tiles in the shower/tub areas to reduce hard water scale. Squeegee or wipe walls after showers, and run the exhaust fan both during and after showers.
Spray white vinegar on the shower or tub and let sit for a few minutes. Then heat white vinegar just until warm, NOT hot, then add an equal amount of blue dawn. Pour or spray on tub or shower and let sit for 20 minutes or so. Use a Mr. Clean magic eraser and your tub will sparkle! Hint: use a broom on the bottom of your tub so you don't have to bend over.
