Is there a way to restore a yellowed fiberglass bathtub?

If age has turned the color of your shower stall or tub surround to a uniform insipid yellow, you probably won't be able to restore the color with a cleaner. Instead, purchase a tub and shower refinishing kit from a hardware store or building supply outlet. The kit contains paint specially designed for use on acrylic and fiberglass as well as chemicals to prepare the plastic for painting. Follow the instructions in the container when using one of these products. It's important to wear a respirator and provide ventilation in the space in which you're working, because the chemicals are volatile and noxious.1 marked as helpful Reply -

I remember Kim and Aggie (How Clean is Your House on tv). filling a tub with hot water and using 5 or 6 DW pods and letting it soak.Alternatively, maybe using Oxiclean or peroxide would help. I would avoid bleach, as it can cause yellowing down the line.http://homeguides.sfgate.com/whiten-yellowed-plastic-tub-surround-34638.htmlhttps://www.hunker.com/13421638/how-to-whiten-plastic-or-fiberglass-tubs-showershttps://www.doityourself.com/forum/cleaning-restoration-plus-mold-mildew-stain-removal/241497-how-remove-soap-scum-hard-water-stains-fiberglass-shower.html#ixzz3OXBG0GaEHelpful Reply -
