Cleaning a vintage Hermes silk scarf

It's mostly cream, with blue and gold accents. It's dingy-looking and has some moderate water stains. Dry cleaning is out, it can ruin the colours, (unless it's chemical-free, hard to find and expensive). I am afraid to hand-wash this treasure, it's well over 50 years old. Any advice will, as always, be greatly appreciated.

I found this link for you. Perhaps it may help. I am an Hermes scarf collector, but none of mine predate 1980. You are correct, the dyes on the older ones can be quite unstable I might recommend testing by putting your scarf on a white handkerchief or even paper towel and using a wet q-tip on each color in an inconspicuous spot to test the color fastness of the dyes. I really wish you luck. Hermes scarves are something to treasure. I believe Hermes offers a cleaning service, but I'm sure it would be pricey.

I have a weird one,,,, a very elderly lady told me once, I could clean,,, more like "freshen" I think with a bit of baking soda in a plastic bag, and just shake the item.
