HELP?! Candle Wax on a New Pair of Shoes!

Question

I had a candle drip wax down over a table and land in my shoes!  Eek!  Ok - so they are NEW shoes...  walking/tennis shoes...  Does anyone know an easy way to remove the wax that is on the outside fabric?  I thought just sticking them in the freezer for a day, and peel it off??  Help...  please?  It is also on 2 t-shirts...

I think it depends on the wax composition. Usually when wax hardens, it is easy to remove, but you may have an 'oil' spot. I have heard (but have not tried just yet) using fingernail polish is good for oil or Sharpee stains in clothing. Hope others chime in with advice!

How about using a hair dryer to melt the wax, then dawn to get the stain out.

If you can iron it with a paper bag or absorbant thin cloth in between the shoe and the iron, it may lift some. If an iron wont reach, heat up a spoon on a flame and use it as the iron.

I would say stick them in the freezer and when the wax is frozen scrape it off like Marie said and then try the suggestion that Diane wrote. Also if you Google Heloise or Help from Heloise you may find your answer there. She has a lot of neat ideas. I hope this info helps...I had a new black top once and I had never wore it, I somehow got a drop of bleach on it...it turned white and it became a cleaning rag. In your case there may be help.

For shoes...harden wax with ice cubes and pick it off. Try 'goo begone' to remove oily stain. If necessary take to leather shop and fet them dyed. For T-shirts...again use ice cubes to harden wax and ouch it off, then iron t-shirt on paper towels to remove rest the wax. Try soaking shirt in water with the color remover sheets that you use to remove color from laundry that ran.

I had a cough drop melt inside a silk evening purse. I put in the freezer and forgot. About a week later I removed from freezer, scrapped with a knife and removed most. Awesome took care of the rest. There are no stains.

If a stain/mark is left on the T-shirts don't toss them out. Add an applique, beads, etc to cover the spot.

Yes! Get it at a dollar store or Dollar General. Best buck you can spend. It has no bleach and works on tile, plastic, bathrooms, glass stove top, everything! Can eliminate storing so many different kinds of cleaners and so affordable!

for wax on any cloth, 1 or 2 days in a deep freezer will usually get the wax off but then you have the stain...or oil.
if you use an adhesive remover, make sure that it too will not stain the fabric...the good quality ones will not...usually.

You could try a sheet of paper and an iron, place paper over wax and iron over top of it. The paper should soak up the wax as it melts

I'm telling you, this works like magic!! Try this before anything!

Heat up an iron.

Get a brown paper bag (other paper might work. Google it).

Sit the brown paper bag on top of the wax spot.

Iron over it!

Like magic, you'll see the wet wax stick to the bag within seconds. You don't need to push down hard or leave it sit long at all!

It literally takes ALL the wax off! Poof! Gone!!

I've tried this on carpet, canvas shoes, the rubber on shoes, clothes, etc!
