How to clean dust and hair off outside of wet or damp toilet

Question

This may seem like a dumb question as I've been cleaning for over 50 years. We have well water, which is very cold, the house is usually warmer, so the toilets are always a bit "sweaty". Trying to clean dust and hair off the outside is nearly impossible. I end up just pushing it around. I've tried microfiber cloths, paper towels, sponges, etc. It just keeps getting pushed around and never clean. Any ideas on how to clean dust off toilet and how to keep hair from sticking to toilet bowl exterior?

Have your tried a Wet/Dry Hand Held vacuum cleaner?

Not a dumb question at all!! The trick is to spray your toilet surface with water in a spray bottle and rinse the hair to the floor. Then you can wipe it up with paper towel a lot easier!

Paper towel or a microfiber cloth should do the trick.

Start with furniture polish, and wipe. Next and finish with alcohol spray. Good Luck!

I find swiffer-type material similar to the microfiber cloths, good at Lifting Off unwanted dust & fibers. I purchase the knock- off- swiffer- type cloths from the dollar store & there great; absorbent too.

forgot to mention, that in your case, i believe pairing the swifter-type cloths with Window cleaner most likely would not present the problem of substances sticking to the bowl & sliding around.
