In my living room I have a dark green shag carpet(yes it's hideous) and 2 nights ago I had a tragic accident, I was shaking up a small can of red Behr paint&primer in one, and apparently the lid was not on like it should have been and the lid flew off and the paint went everywhere! On me,the carpet and my tan microfiber couch! Is there any way of cleaning the carpet and couch? In hindsight thinking "I'm just doing a little stencil it'll be fine to do it in the living room so I can be comfy, I'll just put my painting canvas down just incase" was a insane idea oh and all the paint missed the damn canvas!! Any help would be amazing!! Thanks

If it's water-based paint, you should be able to wash and blot it up. Here's a stain tip: wash the stain, place paper toweling on the wet stain, and place heavy books on the toweling. Wait a day, toss toweling and repeat the process enough times for the stain to lift off.I use this technique all the time on my carpet to get rid of pet waste stains.

Three steps! 1. Use a cup of warm not hot water and a teaspoon of clear dish soap. And lightly clean. (3) Ammonia solution. Mix one tablespoon of clear household ammonia (3% solution) with ½ cup of water. (4) Solvent. A dry cleaning solvent (available at grocery, drug, and hardware stores). Important note: Dry cleaning solvent should never be used on polyester. Clean polyester with a solution of 1 cup cold water and 1 teaspoon of colorless dishwashing liquid or use an all-purpose household spray cleaner or laundry pre-spray (such as 409 or Shout).

91% rubbing alcohol will take acrylic paint off, but test it first because it might take the underlying color off too! If the carpet's that bad, this might be your opportunity to get rid of it or cover it up with a rug.

You can try a razor on the sofa...see if that helps. Just be very careful.
