Is it okay to use a steam cleaner on hard wood floors?

    Kathy, this is only OK with sealed hardwood but I still have not been happy with the results. I prefer to use a microfiber flat mop and just a little bit of cleaner. I've used different products, but I have good results with a spray bottle with equal parts water, alcohol and vinegar and just 3 drops dishsoap. Spray and wipe.

    Yes, but don't leave it in one spot for very long. I have a Shark steamer and I glide it over my hard wood floors, so does my daughter. Be careful if there is a spot you want to clean and resist the urge to let it rest on it.

    No. What are you trying to clean?

    Pet urine can be cleaned to a major degree with Nature’s Miracle.

    Wood Bleach is effective for many stains.

    Oxalic Acid is good for black rust stains.
