I'd like to know why you want to use those ingredients on your cabinets. Turpentine is highly flammable. If your cabinets have been stained or painted and then sealed, you should not use the linseed oil and turpentine on them, as the mixture is only for non-sealed wood. Best wishes on your decision. 😇

If I remember correctly, Linseed oil and Turpentine will strip the finish off the wood. I used that once on an old cedar chest.

The can she poured the "turpentine" out of , says DENATURED ALCOHOL...there's a BIG difference in the two.. maybe in New York, they think they are the same but believe me, they aren'. Denatured alcohol will strip about anything and is highly flammable, and I doubt if someone transferred turpentine into the alcohol can. something about this one isn't quite right... "formby's" is pricy, but at least is safe to use on any woodwork, new or old. or resort to pledge or lemon oil for furnitur.. just as efficient, and safer to use..

I just use Murphy's Oil Soap to clean my cabinets.

For really tough build up on stained panels and furniture, I use a mixture of equal parts white vinegar, turpentine and mineral oil. You have to keep it shook up really well--I keep mine in old screw top glass bottle. Just apply it to a cloth or even fine steel wool and wipe down the surface. I follow up with a hard wax or then proceed with refinishing.

Wow all I use on my wooden kitchen cabinet is Murphy's oil makes the whole kitchen besides the house smell so clean. Then after it has settled in the wood I'll rub some Old English on to seal it all in. They look brand new !! Good Luck on your cleaning ~ but if you want to strip your wood better get some wood stripper. Turpentine is not good for your lungs
