How do I remove a book that is stuck to the top of a wood table?

    Was the wood damp at the time the book was placed on the table? Is it a hard cover or soft cover. If soft cover, maybe it maybe coaxed with a steam iron. The steam may penetrate the cover if you iron it from ghe inside of the cover. Not too sure about a hard covered book.

      What kind of material is the outercovering of the book's cover made of? Is it a shiny paper? Is the wood's surface impervious to rubbing alcohol? Take a Qtip an rub a bit of rubbing alcohol in a hidden spot. If the finish is untouched and no colour is removed, maybe just a few drops of rubbing alcohol coaxed between the cover and the wood may dissolve the bond.

      ...buy that's for paper. Oil (or goo-gone) won't soak through the thick back cover of the book, it's not thin like a sheet of paper.
