inhave a hunch some of the rubber from the bumpers rubbed off on the wood. Take your hairdryer on the low to medium setting and heat up the dots then carefully wipe them away while the rubber dots are still hot
You could try a dry tennis ball. I've heard they take of scuff marks from floors.
Use Goo Gone or WD40.
Try a pencil eraser.
I would try some car polish on a terry cloth towel.
