Grount us simple to clean, if you have an open mind . Without a long dialogue, you need very high alkaline water, 11.5ph, , will lean, then 2.5ph acid water to sterilize. I am not saying this to complicate your life, but proper ph water will not only clean , but make it germ fre, from personal experipence, I speak!

My kitchen grout is white and the area around the sink gets discolored. I used a toothbrush and a thick paste of baking soda and water. I let that sit for a few seconds then spritzed on vinegar. After a couple minutes, I wiped it off and it was back to white.

CLR is a fantastic product! For a homemade product try vinegar and water combination. Spray on and let sit for 30 minutes is so... Wipe off with a spung.
