I have pulled up the carpet and disposed of it. I have mopped and gone around with a blue light looking for stained areas. I still have the cat. She doesn't seem to have any health issues but seems to have a temper when we leave the house.

There is a moisture absorbing product which may help neutralize the air called Damp Rid. Along with that used open boxes of baking soda.

Use white vinegar on the areas where there is urine. This destroys the cat urine. Let sit on stain a few minutes and then wipe up, let dry

There is a product called OdoBan. It is a liquid that you spray. It is wonderful! It takes away the odor, does not just cover it up. It has not dis colored anything that I have sprayed it on. I am an animal rescue person and there are accidents at my house. I could not survive without this. It is sold locally at my Sam's store in a gallon container with a spray bottle. This is in no way an advertisement for this product but it is a good one. It is made in the USA by Clean Control Corp. Warner Robins, GA. or OdoBan.com. Hope this helps.

I've always used Nature's Miracle from Petsmart, but it's not cheap. It works though. My cat peed on my bed once, so I saturated it with Nature's Miracle for cats and within a week I could put my face in the mattress and not smell a thing. There are other products, but this I know works, so I stick with it.
