Foggy mirror fix needed

I bought a thrift store mirror and really love it. After cleaning it I discovered the mirror has a haze that makes it look dirty. Any ideas?

to save the antique glass, remove the silvering on the with paint remover and then add a cheap thin new mirror cut to fit behind the original glass.

I'm hoping it isn't "in" the glass itself. I bought a large glass container and lid that looked lovely in the store BUT found out, after I saw it in regular daylight, that it has a dusty looking film on it. I have tried everything but I feel it is inside the actual glass itself - in other words, inferior glass. I'm hoping yours isn't the same! Can you take it back and get a refund if the cleaning solutions, offered by other readers, fail to work?
