How do I BEST get greasy scalp oils out of/off of a flat-painted wall

After a year of houseguests, mostly Male, there's a greasy area the width of my guest queen sized bed and about 1.5' tall! I want to prep and paint the wall eggshell latex. How to best get the greasy area neutralized?
Then I'll put a metal headboard there as a barrier!

I would wash that area well with a mix of warm water and Dawn dish soap. Then use a primer before you paint--even if you buy paint with a primer in it.
Hello, I agree with Gk but I would prime and get a paint with primer in it just to make sure that it covers well.
Hello Deborah, I agree with the above remark, wash with a diluted Dawn solution, allow that to try. Prime area and repaint. We had this problem too years ago....but under a desk- the spot ( foot area) was sucessfully repainted and camouflaged!
Try TSP substitute mixed with water, that should do the trick.
