I use a product called Wenol. It is made in Germany. I ordered mine on Amazon. It’s an excellent product. It’s the only thing I use.

I sell a lot of jewelry on Ebay. Gold, silver. silverware, serving sets. Polishes like Wrights and dips like TarnX tend to remove some of the metal. I use white toothpaste (not gel) and a damp toothbrush. For large items I use a damp cloth. Also works on copper, brass, bronze, porcelain, ceramics, sneakers, plastics, etc. For my sales I needed one product for cleaning everything.

It depends on what type of jewelry & the stones if any. Most stores carry a jewelry cleaning solution & wipes that are safe for most jewelry!

If you have stones on your jewelry, a soft toothbrush and warm soapy water and rinse in warm water. For hard stones, like diamonds, not turquoise, opal and pearls and other soft stones, I dip the stones in alcohol to get the water off and dry to a water spot free shine. Buff all with a dry soft cloth. I have never had the alcohol cause a problem with gold or silver, but I don't soak them in it. The DIY cleaner with the foil, etc., also removes a little of the metal. I was told about this by a jeweler that I use for repairs and checking settings.
