I bought a candle in a beautiful glass that could be reused if I could get the melted wax off of it

Hot water works great. Just don't pour down a drain. -

Freeze it, then it should hopefully come off a lot easier -

You could try a cotton towel and an iron. Cover the iron with aluminum foil so the wax doesn’t get on it.
