I have bamboo floors

I pet sit dogs and sometimes urine gets on the floor and heavy dogs scratch the finish. I was told to clean with Windex. I've started cleaning with vinegar, water, and a touch of Pine Sol for scent. It removes odors but I have dull spots. Any help on keeping my floors clean, shiny and should I refinish them to remove the nail marks?

The pine sol is what made the dull spots.I have laminate flooring all though with three dogs. I only use vinegar and water. It keeps a nice shine and the vinegar gets rid of the urine smell.

What do you put on it to shine?

@Joyce B that's odd about the reviews. So many of the ladies on another large decor forum I belong to mention that's what they use. I did some research and found that you can buy the brand I use via their website, either via email or phone call. They don't have an 800 number, but that's no problem with cell phones. I have used Citra Sheen Citrus Hardwood Floor Cleaner for a decade now on our solid oak flooring and for the last few months on our solid Strand bamboo floor we installed in one of the upstairs guest rooms. I love it. It leaves absolutely no residue, like other products I've tried. It's made in Lincoln, NE. We purchased two 32 oz bottles at a Home Show in Omaha. http://citrasheen.com/products.html

I dont have to put anything on the floor. Keep lightly going over the floor with the vinegar and water solution until you get the pinesol off.

@I don't blame you Joyce. I highly recommend the cleaner I linked to above. As I said, I've used it for a decade on our oak floors. Both they and the bamboo are finished with polyurethane.

I found out the HARD way as no one told me how to clean my bamboo floors and they now look horrible. Vinegar or any other cleaners are a BIG no-no....a damp floor mop (damp, not wet!) such as a microfiber mop is the best bet.
