Scrub it well with a brush. Once a week, take a Clorox wipe and go around it. You have to stay on top of this, because it doesn't take long for it to get dirty again. I've tried all the stick on bowl cleaners and the cleaners that you hang over the toiler and this seems to work the best.

I have tried everything, but some urine just stains it and there is nothing you can do. I even tried waxing my last one, thinking it would protect it. I just by a new one every few months. Expensive!!! I have an idea for an invention to stop this issue....

Black? Mold? Try straight bleach and scrub often. That is a place that's missed often.

If you live in a "hard water" area, it might be limescale build-up that everything else is then clinging to. You would need to use a descaler over night to remove the limescale. Easiest method is to soak a cloth in the descaler & push it up under the rim, leave overnight without flushing then remove the cloth & scrub the deposits away. Regular use of a bathroom limescale prevention liquid should keep it clean.
