Hi. I bought this jug with cork stopper at Ikea. The cork stopper has a weird and heavy smell. Is there anyone knows how to get rid of the smell?

If the item is new you should contact IKEA for a replacement. If it has gotten the smell from being used, I would run the cork through the dishwasher and/or soak it in a baking soda solution. I have cork pads for hot dishes that go through the dishwasher all the time. If you soak it you will need to weight the cork so that it is well submerged.

I would take it back. You don't know what caused the odor. Could be chemicals that can leach into anything you put in the jug. If you used it, something has reacted with the cork. Could be mold, chemicals, or just bad cork. I wouldn't even try to clean it.
