I use car wax. Almost everyone has an old tin of Turtle Wax in the cupboard.

Car wax is the way to go. Spray clear coat is also recommended by lots of sources, but it's a little too permanent for me. Too much trouble if you have to remove it for some reason in the future.
Swiffers are very gentle when dusting and will not scratch.
I agree with the Swiffer dusters, they will not scratch when that feathery stuff grabs the dust. If you wax it, it will take some work to get if off if you need to remove it in the future.
