How to restore shine to a stainless steel kitchen sink?

Kat,. Start with Bon Ami, then rinse use white toothpaste to shine it up. Aaloha!
After cleaning it, you can also rub it down with mineral oil to make it shine.
Have not tried it yet, but read this week that WD40 works. Apply, let sit ten minutes, then buff.
Barkeeper's Friend also works, as does a light scrubbing with plain baking soda.
