How can you keep the mold and slime out of a bird bath?
Please help, I need to know how to clean a birdbath. I live in Florida and my birdbath gets so black on the bottom that a wire brush does not clean it. I have tried baking soda and comet. The only thing that works is pressure washing, but not likely to do that each month.

if it's concrete, once you get it pressure washed and really clean -- seal it!! then rinse/wipe/refill every week; you don't want to grow mosquitoes or provide dirty water for the birds
Is the birdbath near an electrical source that would allow for a small pump to keep the water moving? If not, can you purchase a solar fountain pump to achieve some movement in the water
I empty my bird bath every few days, rinse it out (swipe it with a brush if needed) and refill. Once a month is not enough to keep the water clean.
