How to clean and polish bronze head stones in a cemetery???

William on Apr 27, 2016General Purpose Bronze Cleaner: Salt, Vinegar, and Flour. Dissolve 1 teaspoon salt in 1 cup white vinegar. Add enough flour to make a paste. Apply paste to bronze and let sit for 15 minutes to 1 hour. Rinse with clean, warm water, and polish dry. You can spray with a UV protective clear coat to slow down the oxidation process.Helpful Reply

MN Mom on Apr 27, 2016First check with the management of the cemetery to be sure you're allowed to clean as some properties have restrictions on maintaining memorials. There are numerous tutorials online and many articles I've read discourage using household cleaners like 409, liquid Lysol, Mr. Clean etc. A mild soap and water, a soft scrub with a cotton cloth and a really good rinse should do the trick. Wipe dry.Helpful Reply

Nita Weimer on Apr 28, 2016To maintain a bronze headstone, my father taught me to dry brush off any debris first. Then, spray with WD40 and rub in with a cloth. Can also use a paintbrush to get in between letters. We did this twice a year.Helpful Reply
