That would depend on the fabric each garment is made out of. Are you sure those spots aren't simply dust?

Depending on what the items are worth, I'd use a dry cleaner.
Soak them in Oxyclean for a while. When it looks like the stains are gone or close to it, put them in the washer with warm water and add more Oxyclean to your laundry soap. That's worked for me.
brown spots as in mold?
I tried this today. I washed the clothes first and the stains did not come out. So I put the 2 cotton tops in a large bucket with warm water and 3 cups of white vinegar. Just enough water to thoroughly cover the clothes. It worked!! An hour later the stains were gone!!
Launder the items as usual and then add 1-2 cups of white household vinegar to the rinse cycle.
If they are light colors I spray with Peroxicde and the new Dawn Power wash.
Hi Tammy! To combat these stubborn stains, take the affected garments outdoors and gently brush off any mold or mildew spores. Next, mix a solution of white vinegar and water or hydrogen peroxide and water. Apply the solution to the stained areas using a clean cloth or sponge, working it into the fabric. Hope this helps!
