Old, old, remedy but works amazing. Put 1-3 tablespoon of bleach in a bottle with 1/2 cup of water. Dab it on with cotton ball. Takes the itch out. And no it doesn't sting at all. Also if chicken pox is visiting put a cup of bleach in the bath water. Takes away the itch. Doesn't hurt in the least and works wonders. Have been using this for 30 years on 2 kids and 4 grands. Never had one complaint about hurting but did work on the itch.
Press scotch tape on the bite. Make sure bite and surrounding area is fully covered. Leave on overnight . Itching stops and healing begins.
I use calendula oil directly on bug bites, but a paste made with baking soda and water also works well. You can also make a paste with ground oatmeal that can be put directly on the bite and will help sooth the itch
